My background in anthropology has taught me how to research carefully, listen closely, and understand people within their cultural and social contexts. Being multicultural myself, along with my experience studying anthropology and working with diverse communities, has also made me comfortable connecting with people from very different backgrounds and building trust quickly. I’m fluent in English, Spanish, and Hungarian, which has further strengthened my ability to communicate across cultures.
My research on Inari Sámi language revitalization was nominated for WWU’s Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award and selected for presentation at the university’s Anthropology Scholar’s Week. I’m interested in journalism that is well-researched but still human and engaging, and I’d love to contribute both as a researcher and writer and as part of a production team.
