Read MoreI'm Leusa Bowen, a bilingual Welsh-English producer, production coordinator, and 1st Assistant Director based between Wales and Bristol. My work is rooted in storytelling that explores culture, identity, and human connection. I have produced and coordinated projects across short film, documentary, music video, podcast, and digital media, with particular experience in Welsh-language production and independent filmmaking.
Currently completing an MA in Filmmaking at UWE Bristol following a First Class Honours degree in Film, Television and Digital Production from Bath Spa University, I have developed a strong foundation in both creative development and production logistics. My work spans the full production process, from pitching and development through to scheduling, crew coordination, production design, post-production management, and festival strategy.
Recent projects include the Graddie-nominated Welsh-language folklore short Yr Anghenfil, the folk-horror music video Pink Leather for Drenched, and several postgraduate narrative films where I have worked as a producer, 1st Assistant Director, editor, and production coordinator. Alongside film production, I have created content for Paralympics GB, contributed to documentary and podcast projects, and worked as a Welsh tutor for adult learners.I am particularly interested in stories that celebrate Welsh culture, challenge conventional narratives, and create meaningful connections with audiences. Whether coordinating complex productions, supporting emerging creatives, or developing original projects, I enjoy bringing people together to turn ambitious ideas into finished work.
When I'm not on set, you'll usually find me researching reality television and media ethics, photographing Welsh landscapes, working on festival strategies for independent films, or helping adults build confidence in the Welsh language.
