I’m a BAFTA-winning writer, creator and author with over twenty years’ experience across children’s and family television, animation, books, live shows and feature films.I began my career as a stand-up comedian, sharing stages with the likes of Jimmy Carr and Noel Fielding, before moving into writing, development and production.

I’ve produced shows in the West End and at the Edinburgh Festival, and that live comedy background still shapes the way I write: big characters, sharp dialogue, strong comic engines and stories that know how to land a laugh.I work both solo and as one half of writing partnership The Black Sheep, alongside Andrew Barnett Jones.

My credits include The Amazing World of Gumball, Mr Bean: The Animated Series, Numberblocks, The Smurfs, Miffy, Super Happy Magic Forest, Bunny vs Monkey, Moley, Viking Skool, Best Bugs Forever and Geronimo Stilton.I’ve written across pre-school, 6–11 comedy, family animation, live-action and feature film, with a particular strength in character-led comedy, world-building and stories with proper emotional engines underneath the jokes. ’m also the author of over sixty children’s books, published in multiple languages.Alongside commissioned writing, I develop original IP for television, film and publishing.

Current projects include children’s animation, family adventure, illustrated chapter books and adult animation, all built around distinctive voices, memorable characters and worlds with room to grow. Read Less
