I am a dynamic and highly adaptable individual with diverse professional experience spanning education, broadcasting, and production. As a bilingual speaker fluent in Welsh and English, I am committed to leveraging my language skills to advance my career. I am driven, energetic, and professional, with a strong desire to continuously improve and grow in all aspects of my work. Communication is a skill I’ve had to work on immensely. Working for media and television production companies often on live broadcasts, the pressure is always on crews and teams and thus communication is always key. Working as a runner I was required many times to relay messages to and from members of my production team at events and festivals where everyone is constantly busy and phones etc. may not always be working. Speaking to production management and directors was never easy in a high-pressure environment when people would often be frustrated and stressed but I felt I always managed to remember and relay information effectively and efficiently. There was often also a need in these roles on location whilst filming to speak to members of the public, perhaps to get them moving along from sets or simply to engage and receive feedback from them. Whilst not every interaction would be positive, I feel I have developed a certain level of understanding regarding how to best engage the public when representing a company or certain people, even when in difficult climates. I also had responsibilities in writing, including logging time codes for camera on location as well as scripting and translating interviews in office settings. Having to script under time constraints from above was always a stressful task but taught me how to most efficiently note key information swiftly but also accurately.I have managed to accumulate a substantial amount of work experience in the media and broadcasting sectors. I do voluntary work as an audio description commentator for Cardiff City Football Club which adore, but I also have plenty of paid working experience. These vary from working on live broadcasts of competitions like Cor Cymru with Rondo Media, to working as a runner on dramas with Boom Cymru and even a theatre production as a stagehand with Cwmni Mega. Working in television, media and broadcasting is something I truly enjoy and every opportunity I get within the field is a privilege. My experiences in the field have allowed me to become more skilled in dealing with pressurized environments, communicating with the public and working as part of a team alongside much more.As mentioned earlier, my voluntary work is very important to me, also because it allowed me an eye-opening experience into the world of customer service and satisfaction. Even when a service is free, the recipients still expect a high-level product and dealing with them can be difficult but also greatly rewarding. I do also have knowledge of when information cannot be used to address issues, and that confidentiality is also necessary at times. Whilst working for Rondo Media I was required many times to keep information from being shared such as televised competition results.
