From a background in conservation field leadership in East Africa I have built a career in broadcast production, specialising in developing contributor-led and character-led stories that translate complex environmental issues into clear, compelling television.
I have worked across a range of factual formats at the BBC including landmark natural history series, presenter-led environmental programming and fast-turnaround short-form films. My most recent credit is on LION (BBC Studios for National Geographic/Disney+), where I worked as the Lead Researcher and Field Director. Previously I worked on Prehistoric Planet (BBC Studios for Apple TV) as a location researcher and on Planet Defenders (BBC Children’s TV), a presenter-led factual series partly filmed in Scotland and Devon. Alongside these productions, I have produced short-form factual films for environmental organisations in the UK and Kenya, and for my own development, where I researched, shot and edited these fast-turnaround projects. This has strengthened my ability to find stories quickly, build trust with contributors, and shape narratives from the ground up.
Before moving into television, I worked in conservation management and NGO leadership in Kenya, designing and managing wildlife conservation programmes and community engagement initiatives. This background continues to inform my editorial approach, particularly in stories involving land use, conservation and relations between people and the environment. I am particularly interested in developing stories that connect people, place and environment, whether through investigative factual journalism in the UK or long-form natural history internationally. I enjoy working across both observational and investigative formats, developing stories from initial research through to field production and editorial delivery.
I am seeking new opportunities across both UK factual as well as global natural history productions, particularly in roles that involve story development, field research and contributor-led or character-led storytelling concerning conservation and the environment.
