Read MoreI’m a creative and driven individual with hands-on experience in multiplatform journalism. I started in 2024 as a production apprentice at BBC Radio Nottingham and worked my way up to a sports correspondent and investigative journalist, all roles within the BBC. Over this time, I have received industry-standard training, which allows me to produce a wide range of content for diverse audiences and platforms. I have worked in all stages of production for TV, online, radio, and social media—often in fast turnaround, high-pressure environments.
My investigative work involves generating and researching original stories and shaping evidence-led narratives whilst remaining editorially sound. A story which I recently led from pitch to output involves the gap in access to grassroots football between girls and women. Not only did I produce this for all local BBC East Midlands platforms, but this story also reached national BBC TV and radio news platforms.
Whilst working as a BBC sports correspondent for Nottingham Forest Women coverage, I regularly record, edit and publish match day coverage, for radio and social media. This includes live social updates, pre and post‑match interviews, live two‑ways with radio presenters, and full match reports—giving me hands‑on experience of the pace, tone and creativity required to cover high‑performing sports. Within this role, I have worked as a TV broadcast reporter for BBC East Midlands Today, where I self-filmed, presented, and edited sports TV pieces, one of which was all about the Lionesses' visit to the City Ground.
Prior to working in the media, I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a 2:1 with honours in Biology. I am able to translate complex academic information into clear, accessible narratives. I have often used my degree to produce nature-based content for the BBC. I produced, presented, and edited, a BBC one-hour Natural History audio documentary about a youth conservation group protecting local biodiversity. This demonstrated my ability to turn scientific ideas into emotionally engaging stories for mainstream audiences.
Skilled in both audio and video editing software like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Audition, I am committed to creating compelling, accessible content that informs, engages, and inspires audiences. I thrive in collaborative and fast-paced environments and value meeting audiences where they are by telling powerful stories that relate to those often unheard. There is truly no better tool for connecting and empowering audiences than the media. My passion for this tool is what inspires my hardworking attitude in the craft.
