I’m Xaver Zimmermann, 18, a wildlife filmmaker and nature photographer from Germany. I started capturing nature as a teenager and won several awards in photography, which sparked my passion for telling stories from the wild. Over the last few years, I have gradually moved into wildlife filmmaking, gaining hands-on experience producing short films, planning shoots, and filming in challenging outdoor environments—from the Alps to Nordic landscapes. Through collaborations with Wildes Bayern e.V. and active participation in the GDT Youth Group, I’ve learned to film ethically and authentically. I’m now excited to further develop my skills in wildlife filmmaking through assistant roles, supporting shoots, helping with logistics, operating cameras, and bringing energy, creativity, and commitment to every project I join.
