A relentless innovator, Mikkelborg has been directing and producing critically-acclaimed TV/film and immersive entertainment since 2015. She recently directed and edit produced Coldplay: Music of the Spheres: An Immersive Experience. The trailer for that experience received 40mn hits before launch on 30th Dec 2025. Prior to the Coldplay project, Charlotte was picked to Series Direct and Produce Apple TV series Adventure (2023-2025). She was acting Series Producer until Season 1 Episode 4 and Edit Produced all episodes in the series with the exception of the pilot. The role involved developing all episodes beyond the initial pilot, overseeing casting, crafting and writing compelling stories for each episode.

Previous work includes Series Producing and Edit Producing (Hi)Story of a Painting focusing on the lesser known stories of some of the world's great artists including Seurat and Gentileschi. Charlotte also Develop Produced unscripted TV series Changing Fortunes of the Mediterranean (Ace Pictures Entertainment for Disney+).

Charlotte's has edit produced almost all of her previous directorial work including Escape to Shanghai, part of The Journey Back (Official Selection Venice Film Festival 2023 and SXSW 2024) trilogy focusing on female survivors of the holocaust.. She also directed and produced the world's first multi-sensory scripted AR game Time Detectives (SXSW Innovation Award 2023) - enabling audiences to follow the story and try and solve some of the greatest mysteries in history. Prior to that, Charlotte created location based experience Fly for British Airways, created with Neil Corbould's Oscar winning special effects team (Gladiator, Gravity) and starring Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey). Fly had a sell out run in London's Saatchi Gallery and was WINNER of the Lumieres Award Best VR Entertainment, WINNER Best Documentary Experience 2020 at Raindance Film Festival and WINNER Best Immersive experience 2020 as voted by the UK Government.

Lauded by Vice as one of the “female creators revolutionising how we see the world”. Mikkelborg first gained recognition as a BBC foreign correspondent but has more recently become known for her work directing and producing critically acclaimed scripted and unscripted TV/film and immersive experiences. Charlotte has worked on high paced projects for leading entertainment, music, commercial and social impact clients including Apple, Disney, Meta, British Airways and the United Nations.
