I’m Chris Tinard, an award-winning cinematographer with more than 24 years of experience crafting story-driven films. I’m the founder of OrangeScreen Productions, where my work is rooted in a deep love for documentaries and authentic, human storytelling.

Over the years, I’ve created films for Fortune 100 companies, public agencies, and major networks including ESPN, CNN, and FOX, producing everything from large-scale cinematic campaigns to focused, purpose-driven marketing content.

Much of my work centers on long-form documentary storytelling, with a strong focus on social justice and impact-driven narratives.

My current project, The Maasai Dilemma, now in pre-production, explores the real lives and ongoing challenges of the Maasai people in Kenya.

I’m a three-time Rocky Mountain Emmy Award nominee and a multiple Telly Award winner, recognized for blending technical precision with emotionally grounded stories.

In 2023, I launched cNOMADIC, an educational platform built to empower filmmakers with practical, technically sound instruction. Through cNOMADIC, I focus on the craft of cinematography, from camera settings and exposure to lighting and composition, helping filmmakers bridge the gap between creative vision and real-world execution.
