Read MoreI am an experienced executive producer with 20 years under my belt in the industry, having worked across many genres for all of the main broadcasters. This year I’ve exec’d another successful series of Dinner Date / Celebrity Dinner Date for ITV, putting together and running a large team (most of whom were new to the series including my series producer). With Dinner Date and my past shows, I have extensive knowledge and knowhow when it comes to setting up robust protocols in all areas, and importantly welfare procedures, whereby I personally train all staff, including knowhow when identifying red flags and how to handle sensitive contributor issues. I am very hands on when it comes to this and personally handle all cases with the commissioner as they arise. As a trained counsellor, I have also been the assigned welfare officer for the crew, regularly exercised in confidential chats when the going gets tough for the team. Something I relish and find very rewarding. When it comes to production, I have worked on many sensitive shows in my career, and pride myself when it comes to dealing with hard-hitting content, from eating disorders and body dysmorphia to socio-economic matters and animal ob docs. I also rather like to use my entertainment experience and funny bone when it comes to this genre, having worked on many series of Four Weddings and all of the series of Who’s Doing the Dishes (with Brian McFadden). Other highlights of my career have been Gordon, Gino and Fred, Gok’s Fashion Fix, Supersize vs Superskinny, Sex Education and more recently Rich House Poor House - the latter being no mean feat for any SP (later Exec). Rich House Poor House is one I’m truly proud to have been a part of. In the early days I also had the pleasure of working with the likes of Kim and Aggie and Gillian McKeith, You Are What You Eat being the show where I cut my teeth as a director / edit producer. I absolutely love the edit / final post and running multiple suites, which I am no stranger to. When I’m not an exec or SP, I often take on roles as an EP. My script writing abilities are well-honed after all of these years in darkened edit suites. And I love to utilise my afore-mentioned funny bone wherever possible for shows such as Dinner Date. Finally, I am suited to returning series’ (refreshing if necessary) whilst I also jump at the chance of a brand new series and having the opportunity to put my own stamp on it. I have achieved this on many occasions. You’ll also see me quietly, but often, handing new ideas to development teams, something I like to think I’m prolific in. I’ve just completed a script for my first comedy drama. I’ve more recently been developing my training skills at DV Talent where I’ve been designing and managing shooting, SP, PM and Avid courses, with excellent results. I am happy to take on full or part time Exec roles (and edit producing opportunities).
