Monique produced debut feature length film SLANT (2023) starring Sigrid Thornton and Pia Miranda, which was selected as a breakout feature at 37 Degrees South Film Market, as part of Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) 2022 and went onto take home Best Australian Feature at Monster Fest, Melbourne 2022. SLANT was theatrically released across Australia in 2023 followed by a digital release on SBS on Demand, Apple TV and Amazon Prime in the US, Europe and UK. After SLANT, Monique produced short film LACERATE (2023), starring highly acclaimed Robyn Nevin (Flicker Fest, Ariano International 2024) and ROTTEN, micro indie horror written and directed by Phoenix Raei due for release in 2025. Monique’s other career highlights include working as Second Assistant Director on Australian feature THE ROOSTER (2023), starring Hugo Weaving (MIFF, SXSW 2023) and producing a sold out season of a stage production of Oscar winner Kenneth Lonergan’s LOBBY HERO (2019, Melbourne). Monique started out in the industry as a professional screen actor, giving her a strong understanding of story and the professional television industry and has also spent several years in house as an entertainment lawyer at The Walt Disney Company working within the Disney+ content team and studio distribution across Searchlight, Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney, 20th Century and National Geographic brands. Monique is currently being mentored by senior screen executive Sally Caplan (Executive Chair Fulcrum Media Finance, MIFF, and Ex BFI Head of Premiere Fund & Head of Production, Screen Australia). Monique has several feature film projects in development in the UK as well as Australia recently received development funding from Screen Australia for one of the feature films on her slate. Monique is looking to find her place in the UK market place to work on and contribute to high end UK and international television and feature films on a freelance or in house basis.
