Zachary Jones Neuray is a documentary filmmaker and journalist whose work explores how art, community, and storytelling foster resilience and identity.
His films and reporting bridge immersive cinema with investigative journalism, focusing on culture, human rights, and the creative process. Zachary has served as Director of the News Department at KWVA 88.1 FM, leading a team of 25 journalists to produce community-centered news and arts programming.
His reporting includes coverage for UNESCO’s World Press Freedom Day as a Research Fellow with the Crossings Institute in New York, Santiago, and Brussels, and he is a published author in Don’t Shoot the Journalist: Migrating to Stay Alive.
As a filmmaker, he is currently directing No Quiet Hours, a feature documentary on Oregon’s DIY music scene featuring artists such as Janet Weiss, Larry Crane, and The Kingsmen.
Through his production collective, Zachary continues to support regional creatives, producing films, publications, and sound projects that celebrate independent voices and preserve cultural history in Portland and London as a DJ for KBOO 90.7 FM and Brixton Radio while working as a Creative Producer for Madhouse Creations.
