A passionate, enthusiastic plants-person and horticulturist with an ever-developing knowlege of plants, I am fascinated by what other people know about plants, how they see them, what they can do with them, and am always looking to learn from them.   There are so many opportunities to learn out there, that I continuously absorb information that will expand my understanding of my favourite past time.  I love the creative side of horticulture and develop ideas and work on home projects to constantly further my appreciation of the gardening world.  I am passionate about helping novice gardeners develop their skills and maximise any outside space they have to hand, which is why I do the roles that I currently do, but appreciate there are other opportunities out there that will further allow me an outlet for my creativity and passion for plants. 

Having spent most of my career in Dangerous Offender Managemeent within the Prison, Probation and Police I had a (radical) career change to horticulture (post pandemic) where I retrained via the Working For Gardeners Charity (formerly the WFGA) on the Work and Retrain as a Gardener scheme, whilst simultaneously studying for my RHS qualification.  I trained at Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire -the residence of the King - where I received 9 LANTRA training certificates, and have since established my own Garden Development business incorporating consultancy, elements of design and development of domestic gardens in the Bristol area.  I am also a Regional Manager for the charity Working For Gardeners whereby I place trainees into suitable placement gardens across Gloucestershire, Somerset, Bristol and Bath as well as research, design and create exciting horticultural training days for members of the enthusiastic gardening community.

Outside of work I am a qualified cricket coach, a keen player as well as coach for Golden Hill CC womens section.  I love creative hobbies, so have spent many years silversmithing and am a keen potter.  I am a mother of 2 children, and live in Henleaze, in the North of Bristol, within walking distance to the BBC studios.

I am new to the Talent Manager world (!) so have created this profile in order to apply for the role of Horticultural Researcher for Gardeners World.  I simply could not not apply for this role!
