I combine my keen interest in zoology, especially mammalogy, and wildlife photography in the field of wildlife filmmaking. I am captivated by the intricate relationships that sustain biodiversity. A placement in this field represents the culmination of a lifelong ambition to deepen my understanding of mammalogy, ecology, and conservation in both marine and terrestrial ecosystems whilst contributing meaningfully to the preservation of our natural world. I document fauna across diverse habitats, refining my observational skills and patience in the field. During my time interning aboard a research vessel in Tenerife, I collaborated with marine biologists on photographic identification of pilot whales, basic hydrophone operation, and data entry for studies assessing green turtle breathing patterns. Experience using hydrophone equipment to monitor these animals has given me both technical familiarity and fascination with cetacean acoustics. I currently volunteer as a surveyor of waterfowl at Rostherne Mere Nature Reserve, a position which has allowed me to expand my monitoring and fieldwork skills. At the University of Exeter, I serve as Welfare Secretary of the largest university surf club in Europe, organising competitive events, spearheading fundraising for domestic wildlife charities, and collaborating with the not-for-profit organisation Surfers Against Sewage. I aim to turn my photography into more complex wildlife filmmaking and post this through social media and YouTube. I wish to work as a camera assistant for a dedicated operator so if there are any camera operators in my region who have studio work during semester breaks please let me know.
