Read MoreJamie Quantrill is a cinematographer of BAFTA and award winning non-fiction, fiction, music video, artist moving image, and commercials. His early career was spent making experimental films in Super8mm, 16mm, and Hi8 video at art school (BA Hons Fine Art Intermedia). He graduated in 2001 and spent his first ten years in the film industry working as a video editor and camera operator as part of several successful production companies. During this time he continued to write, direct, produce, and edit his own unique short films and video installations and collaborate with a variety of artist filmmakers. He moved behind the camera in 2011, taking with him an experienced editorial eye for storytelling and an intuitive approach to image making. His work has been widely exhibited on broadcast media, at international film festivals, in museums, cultural institutions, and galleries around the world.
His most recent credits include the BAFTA 2024 winning documentary series ‘Lockerbie’ (Sky/Mindhouse), directed by John Dower, the BAFTA Scotland 2022 winning music performance film 'Biffy Clyro - A Celebration of Endings' (Forest of Black) directed by Oscar Sansom, the documentary 'Siticulosa' (ANNWN Studio) directed by Film London Jarman Award 2024 nominee Maeve Brennan, and feature documentary film 'Irvine Welsh - Reality Is Not Enough' (LS Productions/Velvet Joy) directed by Paul Sng.
He is currently in production on projects by BIFA winning & BAFTA nominated director Paul Sng, Grierson Award winning filmmaker Katharine Round, and Turner Prize winning artist Elizabeth Price.
