She graduated from the University of Oxford with a First Class degree in English, where she was also a College Scholar, and she has built a body of work that combines performance with storytelling across multiple media.Her theatre work includes both acting and directing, notably in a full-scale production of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline and in an original musical adaptation of Rumplestiltskin, where she led a diverse cast and creative team through rehearsal, staging, and design. She has also been a long-standing contributor to The Oxford Revue, writing, editing and performing satirical sketches that were performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, refining comedic material for live performance, and working closely with other creatives to bring productions to life.On screen, Maya has gained professional television experience as a Production Runner on Fatal Fall: Murder or Accident? (Coming Up Roses, London), where she supported the crew, assisted with logistics, and operated a GoPro to capture on-set footage. She has also worked as an intern at Oxford Scientific Film, developing narrative frameworks for science films and contributing to shoots, schedules, and creative production processes. Her international experience includes script editing for the short film Dean (Black Labrador Productions, Melbourne), collaborating closely with directors to refine tone, pacing, and storytelling.In addition to stage and screen, Maya has hosted and produced cultural radio for Oxide Radio’s What We Wish We Knew, interviewing guests, scripting episodes, and leading live broadcasts.
