Aquayemi-Claude Garnett Akinsanya (known publicly as Lord Akinsanya) is a prominent activist, campaigner, actor, and public speaker, widely recognized for his work in social justice, environmental advocacy, and sustainable fashion. He is the Founder of Garnetts Clothing Brand & Range (GCBR), a nonprofit sustainable fashion initiative, and the Claudes SEN Law Campaign (TCSL), an international advocacy movement championing inclusive education and disability rights.
Born in London and raised in Richmond Park, Akinsanya has turned his lived experience as a neurodivergent individual—living with autism, dyslexia, epilepsy, and other conditions—into a driving force behind his campaigns for disability justice, equality in education, and systemic reform.
As a public speaker and media strategist, he has appeared across major platforms including BBC News, LBC, TalkTV, the Jeremy Vine Show, Forbes, COP Climate Summits, and YOUNITE 2024, where he represented the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals on Reduced Inequalities. He is also the author of The Truth Behind Self-Isolation and This Crazy Climate of Lockdown and a podcast host, often discussing youth empowerment, marketing effectiveness, climate justice, and reducing inequalities.
Alongside his activism, Aquayemi-Claude has a strong acting and performance background, with experience in pantomime, dance, presenting, and storytelling. His versatility extends to a wide range of accents and performance styles, blending creativity with advocacy. He has been profiled as an actor, model, dancer, and entertainer, using media and performance to elevate the causes he stands for.
Akinsanya’s leadership has earned him recognition as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe Finalist (2024), Global Recognition Awardee for Disability Advocacy & Sustainable Fashion (2024), and National Diversity Awards Nominee (2025). He also serves as a trustee with Trustees Unlimited, Community Lead for One Campaign UK, and mentor to young changemakers worldwide.
At the heart of his work lies a simple but powerful vision:
“Neurodiversity is not a deficit it is a different way of experiencing the world that enriches us all.”
