I’m a 2024 graduate from the University of Sussex, where I studied English Literature and Drama. I'm keen to begin exploring a career in the film and TV industry, and starting as a runner seems like a great way to gain hands-on experience and develop an understanding of the many roles that make up a production team. My degree gave me a strong foundation in communication, storytelling, and creative problem-solving, skills that help me collaborate effectively and contribute meaningfully to creative projects. Combined with six years in hospitality, I can confidently anticipate needs, stay calm under pressure, and deliver seamless support.I've always had a real passion for storytelling, whether it's through film, television, books, or theatre, and I'm now keen to understand more about how the industry operates behind the scenes.I'm currently weighing up whether gaining some on-set experience, perhaps in an entry-level capacity, would be a good first step towards really understanding production dynamics and industry culture. Ultimately, I'm aspiring to one day work as a creative producer, but I'd really like to explore different areas of the industry first to better understand where my strengths lie. While I haven't worked on set before I have six years experience in hospitality, meaning I can confidently anticipate needs, stay calm under pressure, and deliver seamless support. My professional experience in hospitality has given me transferable skills, including strong communication, excellent organisation, and a proactive attitude. I'm confident that my adaptability and people skills would serve me well in a production environment.
