Hire me, and you’re hiring a dedicated creative mind, recognised for their out-the-box ideas, coming into this new world with a fresh perspective, and an excitement to get started and prove my value.
The first thing that you should know about me is that I always aim for the top. I won’t be happy just being ‘another employee’, and I have a dedication to proving myself. Coming from a school, rated during my time there as the 8th worst in the national region, I refused to let that dampen my aspiration, and went on to become one of few school alumni to go to a national Top 10 university.
Lancaster University was one of the nation’s best for my goals: 1st in Creative Writing, 5th for Film. Now, with a final grade of a 2:1, I can confidently say that I excelled within this creative environment, and made the most of every opportunity. Throughout my 3 years, I focused on filmmaking as the outlet for my creative mind, developing my skills across a variety of roles.
A self-driven creative, I am proud to say that, during my time at University, I created more films than anyone else in my faculty. My first film, in my first year, was made with substandard equipment from a local TV station, and comprised of only 3 crew members. By the time of my third year, I had built up my network and reputation which granted me access to industry standard equipment, and enabled me to call upon a talented team of 18, each eager to work with me.
By the end of the year, and over the span of just 20 weeks, I had completed a trilogy of well-received films, with my work being featured prominently in the Lancaster Institute for Contemporary Arts’ (LICA) annual showcase. In these films I worked in a variety of roles, including Director, Producer, Writer, Editor, Sound Designer, Cinematographer, and Gaffer, demonstrating the culmination of my experience, and a well-rounded understanding of the basics of numerous roles used within the industry.
