Every story I cover, whether it’s about farming standards, the state of our food security, countryside isolation or featuring local farm shops and farmers markets; it connects in some way to my own life and lived experience.I grew up in a small village in Derbyshire, later moved to the USA, and eventually found myself back in the very same cottage where I grew up.
In the USA, I saw first hand how intensive farming causes severe environmental damage, depleting soil health, polluting waterways and driving biodiversity loss. It prioritizes volume over sustainability, animal welfare, and long-term food system resilience. Food manufacturers create ‘food like substances’ in laboratories, which cause a number of chronic health issues and excessive fast food is leading to a pandemic of obesity. All things we should be aware of could happen in our beautiful Britain.
As you can see rural life is something I am very concerned with and passionate about. For the past 25 years I have been presenting on TV alongside my day job, as an entrepreneur & business owner and my vibrant career has allowed me to pick up many skills along the way.I’ve produced packages for radio, created videos and online content and delivered cooking segments on live TV.
I am a braodcast journisium student currently, getting more skills to add to my existing experience looking to move to a countryside focused show.
