Yara Melki is a filmmaker based in London. She is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she earned her BFA in Film and Television.

Yara works as a director, producer, and writer, with a focus on telling nuanced stories across borders. She has directed several short films, including her upcoming project Alya, shot in her home country of Lebanon and currently in post-production.

She has independently produced a range of short films internationally—in Lebanon, Brazil, and the U.S.—and is currently serving as a line producer on an upcoming feature film.

Yara previously worked as a production and development coordinator at RAMFIS Productions and now serves as the Development Producer at Akward Productions in New York. She recently attended the Cannes Film Festival to support and market the company’s upcoming slate of films. Read Less
