I’m currently freelancing as a video editor, working on numerous projects for The National College. After graduating with a First Class degree in Journalism, I recognised that I had a natural aptitude for the digital aspects of the course, and that my interests lie in that side of journalism. This progressed into a passion for digital editing and content creation, particularly in video. My long term goal is to have a career in entertainment, in a role that combines my passion for journalism and video creation, with continuous opportunities for growth within the industry. I began working on this goal during university, when I created a YouTube channel and interviewed professionals in the entertainment industry over Zoom, which I then edited into videos to post.
Throughout my course, freelance work, & extracurricular work, I've gained a strong working knowledge in a diverse range of useful and transferable skills that include:
• Video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro)
• Motion graphics (Adobe After Effects)
• Content creation (YouTube, Instagram, & TikTok)
• Thumbnail design
• Image editing (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, & Canva)
• Colour grading (DaVinci Resolve)
• Audio editing (FL Studio)
• Writing features/news articles/reviews/scripts
• Interviewing
• Broadcast journalism
• Presenting
• Recording voiceovers
• Videography & photography
My key strengths include:
• Being self-driven
• Excellent organisational skills
• Good verbal & written communication
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly (both to new software & hardware, and new ways of working)
I am currently open to freelance opportunities, or full/part-time positions.
