I am also an NCTJ-accredited journalist, as I studied for my NCTJ with News Associates in Manchester. While on my NCTJ course, I learned about the nuances of journalsim like journalistic law, data and public affairs and wrote about relevantr news topics for the in-house publication, Mancunian Matters.
I was on the BCOMS programme in 2023, a scheme sponsored by BBC Sport. The scheme took on apiring ethnic-minority journalists like myself and were given monthly masterclasses about the nuances of the sports media industry. With BCOMS, I was a production runner at the Wimbledon tennis tournement 2023, and a runner at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2022 at Dock10, MediaCityUK.
I was also a radio logger for the BBC Sport library during the Paris Olympics 2024. As a radio logger I listened to the BBC radio 5Live broadcast and logged the most noticeable moments from the games onto the system to be used at later dates.
