I've always been a voracious movie watcher and a love for films of all genres was instilled in me from a young age through exposure to a variety of movie directors and producers. Having seen hundreds of films over the years has given me a really broad perspective on the industry and a wide range of cinematic languages to choose from. I think that one of my best qualities is being able to instantly connect with a variety of new people and in doing so, adapt to novel and challenging situations. I make a great teammate because of my contagious enthusiasm and hard work, which tend to inspire those around me. I believe I’m not only dedicated and hardworking, but also a fun and positive person to work and be around and have a good understanding of reading the room and know how to bring the right energy when working with a big group.
Throughout my life I have always been drawn to the visual arts. I struggled with traditional academic studies at school as a result of having ADHD and mild dyslexia. This diagnosis led me to discover different and fantastic strengths, including football, music – playing in school orchestras, including at the London Palladium – and above all photography, film and theatre. This helped me to overcome my difficulties at school, excel in these areas and decide to pursue them further in sixth form with a University of the Arts Extended Diploma in Creative Practice at the London Screen Academy, for which I earned a distinction.
Since leaving the London Screen Academy in 2023 I worked full-time to be able to travel and see new places. Meanwhile, I also started acting lessons which gave me the confidence to audition and gain a place at the National Youth Theatre. This is something new for me, but I view this as a next step towards a well rounded understanding of film creation. I have also recently started a screenwriting course with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to further develop my storytelling skills and strengthen my writing for screen. I’ve been practicing and refining my own film ideas for many years, using writing as a way to explore stories and develop my voice as a screenwriter.
