Film has always been the place where my imagination feels most at home. Over time, it has grown from something I simply enjoyed into something I study, analyze, and continuously strive to create. Watching films before bed, breaking down scenes, and paying close attention to character decisions and visual choices have all shaped the way I understand storytelling. What started as a habit has become a foundation for my ambition: to create stories that leave a real emotional impact.
My coursework in Introduction to Media Studies opened my eyes to the power of visual storytelling—how media shapes audiences, how narratives are constructed, and how meaning is built through editing, framing, and sound. It taught me to think critically about the choices creators make and how those choices influence culture. This pushed me from being just a passionate viewer to someone who wants to contribute to the craft.
Alongside my academic journey, I have been developing my own original story concepts. One of my ongoing projects centers on a character shaped by trauma, ideology, and personal transformation—a figure meant to be both feared and understood. Working on this story has taught me how to build worlds, write layered conflicts, and develop emotional arcs that feel earned. I’ve also experimented with other formats, like sitcom-style ideas set in everyday environments, aiming to create something familiar yet distinctly my own. These projects have helped me refine my voice and understand the kind of storyteller I want to be.
Creating short reviews on TikTok has strengthened my ability to communicate ideas clearly and connect with an audience. It taught me how to express insights about film and television in a way that is concise, engaging, and thoughtful—skills that carry over into writing, directing, and collaborative work.
Ultimately, I want to be part of the filmmaking world not just as a fan of the medium, but as a creator who contributes meaningfully to it. I’m driven by character-focused narratives, strong dialogue, and stories that explore identity, conflict, and emotion. I’m eager to gain hands-on production experience, learn from others in the field, and continue developing the skills that will help me bring my ideas to life.
Film is where I feel most inspired—and I’m ready to take the next step toward shaping stories that resonate.
