Nicole moved to New York City and became the Vice President and Director of Development for Zanzibar Productions. At Zanzibar she co-created a new genre of television called “reality TV” where she was the Showrunner and Executive Producer of their first unscripted TV series - The It Factor.
Nicole’s original creations have been optioned by various production companies and networks, such as: Oxygen, Planet Green, Nick Jr, Noggin, Vh1, and NBC - Bravo. She was also the first creative to ever be commissioned by Discovery Studios as a “Hot House Producer” where she was responsible for creating original content for their channels: TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery, and the launch of Planet Green.
Her debut, documentary feature, Houston We Have a Problem, which addresses the urgencies of climate change, received an Emmy nomination in 2011 for “outstanding business and economic long-form reporting.” The film premiered at the AFI, and was selected for MOMA’s Documentary Fortnight, as well as opening the Environmental Film Festival at Yale. It has screened around the world and was acquired by: Discovery, Planet Green, Netflix, and Amazon. Nicole won the Best Director’s Award at the Docuwest Film Festival, as well as The Best Point of View award, at the Eco Focus Film Festival in Athens.
Nicole is a writer of both television and film, and lives in Los Angeles. She continues to work as creative executive and is currently collaborating with Key Management on developing original material for some of their unique talent. She is represented by The Gersh Agency.
