He has directly studied under, taken knowledge from, and travelled with a diverse and extensive list of some of the world's foremost leading lights of all fields from both the Muslim and wider communities, and has often been invited by the organisations with which he works to deliver speeches and talk on panels, deliver the adhan—the Muslim call to prayer—as a guest muezzin, lead the prayers as a guest imam, recite his poetry and sing his compositions (which he does under the nom de plume of Abir al-Sabil, meaning 'wayfarer'), and also recite relevant selections from the Qur'an, all of which he has done before United Kingdom and international audiences, often coupling his recitation of the Holy Book with the English translation, sharing its enlightening, timeless, and far-reaching wisdom that is so needed in our age. His work as well as projects with which he has been directly involved have been featured in local, regional, national, and international media, including, amongst others, the BBC, Channel 4, Channel S, and the Islam Channel.
His interests cover just about everything from Anglo-Saxon to agroforestry, and the many things which he enjoys doing include cooking, gardening (he is currently working out how to take care of the olive tree and jasmines in his garden), long walks in nature, reading, and spending time with the ones he loves. He resides in London with his family, but his heart remains where the Prophet Muhammad is laid to rest, in al-Madinat al-Munawwara, the City of Lights.
