Loving film and music from and early age, devoted to the likes of Doctor Who, Ray Harryhousen, Star Trek and, of course, Jim Henson's Labyrinth. I also come from a background of low budget, independent filmmaking, having an in-depth understanding of the creative process and on-set practice, I have developed a keen skill for problem solving whilst not jeapraodising creativity.
Following graduation from my undergraduate degree for Music at Cardiff University (in the throws of the pandemic), though I had continued making short form content for university student societies and short film for myself, I knew I wanted to develop and jump into filmmaking 100%. I applied and was accepted into the Masters course at MetFilm School London and from then I have never looked back. My Graduation film, 'Every Waking Moment', the story of gay musicians in 1960s Britain, a film combining my skills as a trained musician and composer and as a filmmaker, was accepted into the BFI Flare Festival 2023 and ten further film festivals, nationally and internationally recognised. From then, though work was hard to come by in an increasing difficult economic climate, I approached filmmaking by continuing scoring fellow peers films and working on sets as an avid assistant director and producer, competing in competitions and producing my own works to continue development in my craft. In the 2023 48 Hour Film Project Competition, my film The Devil's Ball won the 3rd Best Film Award and Best Cinematography, whilst also being nominated for Best Direction and Best Score, the score of which I provided myself. Throughout 2024, I decided to devote my time to producing three large scale music videos for the emerging band 'The Kids in Spoacesuits', who had released their album in May 2024. This approach was to utilise three entirely different creative visions by hiring three different directors and focusing my efforts as a producer on capturing and successfully effecting their vision. I am incredibly proud, as the unique nature of the videos speaks volumes to the overall success of each project.
