Paddy Browne – Screenwriter

I am a Liverpool-based screenwriter with a passion for telling authentic, character-driven stories, particularly those that reflect working-class experiences. My writing explores themes of trauma, morality, and human resilience, often set against the backdrop of real-world struggles such as poverty, crime, and mental health.

My script "Stay Mum" won Best New Writer at the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Competition 2023, which led to industry interest and a collaboration with Maia Pictures to develop the project into a TV series pilot. I later adapted it into a novel and became a finalist in the Writing on the Wall Pulp Idol New Novelist competition (2024), with my first chapter published in "Pulp Idol – Firsts 2024."

I am an alumnus of the Everyman Playhouse YEP Writers Programme (2019), where I developed my stage writing skills under award-winning playwright Joe Ward-Munrow. My influences include Andrea Arnold, Shane Meadows, and Jimmy McGovern, and I strive to create grounded, emotionally driven narratives that challenge and engage audiences.

Proficient in Final Draft, I have strong experience in script development, formatting, and collaboration. I am currently seeking opportunities in film and TV to develop original projects and contribute to compelling storytelling. Read Less
