Read MoreI have always been fascinated by the power of storytelling in films. Watching how a story comes to life on screen, through the emotions of characters, creative editing and the director's vision, have inspired me to explore filmmaking. My passion for films and creativity has motivated me to study film at university, where I hope to learn new skills, gain practical experience and turn my dreams into a career.
Although I have no formal experience in filmmaking, I’ve spent time learning in my own way. I enjoy watching films from different genres, paying close attention to cinematography, editing and narrative structure. I enjoy writing scripts and short stories which allow me to experiment with dialogue and character development and storytelling techniques. These exercises have deepened my appreciation of the creative and technical aspects of filmmaking and increased my motivation to be part of the industry.
My academic background has equipped me with transferable skills essential for success in film studies. Subjects like English Literature, where I achieved a grade 7, have strengthened my analytical and critical thinking abilities, while other collaborative projects have taught me the importance of teamwork and effective communication. Balancing multiple commitments has developed my time management skills which I am confident will come in useful.
I am particularly drawn to the opportunity to learn about all the aspects of filmmaking from screenwriting and directing to editing and post production. I am eager to immerse myself in the creative process, collaborate with like minded individuals and gain practical experience that will prepare me for a career in the film industry.
