My background is diverse. I have worked in a variety of environments including restaurants,a print shop, a book warehouse, a pottery studio, and most recently, as a ProductionAssistant at D&AD - an internationally renowned design and advertising awardsorganisation. Working across so many fields and with different teams and customers hashelped me develop a wide range of skills and the adaptability to handle different situationswith confidence and care.I arrived in the UK in 2020 and have been working and studying ever since. Many of myroles were demanding, particularly in balancing my time between education, work, andpersonal life. However, these experiences helped me understand the core principles of goodcustomer service, and they strengthened my problem-solving abilities. Whether it wasdealing with an unhappy customer or tracking down a lost order, I learned to find quick andeffective solutions. In the book warehouse, I used my organisational skills to manageinventory and prepare shipments. Across all jobs, I refined essential qualities such asefficiency, attention to detail, time management, fast thinking, empathy, and of course, mylevel of the English language.I graduated from London College of Communication in 2023 and have since worked as botha Studio Assistant and Production Assistant. In parallel, I built a freelance photographybusiness from the ground up, completing over 30 multimedia projects without any initialindustry connections, showing my resilience and self-motivation. I also wrote and directedmy own short film, managing everything from location permits and casting to riskassessments and production schedules. The film tells the story of two immigrants who lefttheir home and family behind in search of a better life, and the emotional journey of finallymaking the decision to return years later.Still, my work history is just one part of who I am. I was born and raised in Portugal. AlthoughI’m very close to my family, I moved to the UK to follow my dream of becoming aphotographer. I’ve always been a persistent and resourceful person. I truly believe thatopportunities don’t just come to you; you have to go out and create them. I like to think I’mhumble and passionate (at least, that’s what others say).
Nowadays, I still follow that passion on the side while focusing on creating a strong career on Production. Read Less
