My work has directly contributed to actors being awarded for best actor at The National Film Awards (Gus Turner for Ted Lasso series 3), a BAFTA nomination for best male comedy performance (Adjani Salmon for ‘Dreaming Whilst Black’) and a commission for nine further episodes and a Christmas special of ‘Mammoth’. Over the last few years, I have predominantly coached people to play leads who have never acted before! They have varied from comediennes to stuntmen to writers and directors. Each time I have loved the challenges and successes regardless of whether they are brand new or seasoned actors.
Some of my previous work on productions include ‘Ted Lasso’ S3 (Apple), ‘Dreaming Whilst Black’ (BBC/A24), and ‘Mammoth’ (BBC Wales). Projects yet to be released include ‘We Might Regret This’ (Roughcut/BBC), ‘Bad Tidings’ (Sky Studios), and an unannounced Matthew Vaughn project.
Before working as a coach, I worked in casting for ten years and have been part of the casting team on projects such as ‘Line of Duty’ (BBC), ‘Sherlock’ (BBC), ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (Disney), ‘The Dig’ (Netflix) and many more. I worked for some of the most highly regarded casting directors in the UK, including Lucy Bevan, Robert Sterne, Kate Rhodes James, Julie Harkin and Theo Park.
Prior to my career behind the camera, I trained as an actor at The Arden School of Theatre in Manchester.
