Read MoreI am a strategic and commercial leader with 20+ years of experience across converging media markets. I bring a very broad perspective and a range of complimentary skills from a varied career in consulting, strategy, policy, business development with Deloitte, Ofcom, BT TV & Sport and BBC Studios. I’m exploring the next step in my career and seeking a Commercial Director / Business Development Director role within a medium sized media / sport / cultural organisation / charity. Ideally based in the South-west - or further afield if enabled by hybrid working.
I’m also open to freelancing / consulting on a project basis so if you’re looking for an experienced, independent voice on a flexible basis then please get in touch and I’d be happy to scope out anything in more detail, eg in the below areas:
• Busines Planning – to review new opportunities, business risks and performance against plan – and how to navigate short and long term trends to ensure business is ‘right sized’ to current market conditions.
• Commercial Strategy – to review and/or articulate unit / genre growth strategies and to prioritise areas of focus.
• Market intel and funding – to review and/or set out routes to market – by identifying target clients, realistic tariffs, co-production opportunities, funding plans – all to meet the needs of a more constrained TV market.
• Contractual & commercial terms – from reviewing terms across the board and suggesting areas of improvement to leading specific deal negotiations – drawing on extensive knowledge of content investment, production and distribution models / strategies.
• Business operations – e.g. advising on sales projections, content investment cases, archive exploitation.
• Project leadership – providing input/oversight/leadership on projects as needed – drawing on extensive experience of project leadership across complex portfolios of work & multi-disciplinary teams in complex matrix organisations.
