Mia has been featured on BFI's Short Film Podcast, was selected for BFI NETWORKS South East Emerging Producers Programme and is a reader for BFI NETWORK short film fund and Early Development Programme. Her BFI NETWORK short film X to X directed by Lily Gwynne-Thomas and starring Tanya Reynolds was selected by BAFTA, Oscar and BIFA qualifying Cleveland International Film Festival, Dallas International Film Festival, Rhode Island Film Festival, Kino Shorts, Berlin Shorts and Shortest Nights and won awards for Best Director, New Talent and Special Mention at Lowestoft and Renaissance Film Festivals. Mia has a number of short projects in development including two of her own scripts and attached as an Associate Producer to two action horror features also in development.
Mia has a degree in Egyptian Archaeology and academic background in ancient history, and is a part of the hands on team in the Americas department at The British Museum. She has a passion for films that explore uncommon perspectives, remote and historical worlds and are darker in genre. Mia is also a student industry mentor at Met Film School Brighton and runs the Film and Photography Workshops at Camp VC, a womens motorbike and adventure event in Wales. Mia is also founder of Sangre Mala - a visual arts and creative development company with a historic lens.
