Elaine Walsh – Development Producer/Script Consultant/ Producer Bio. 


I have two passions in life - scripts and writers! I love books and am a fast reader since childhood - I easily had my 10,000 hours done by the time I was 10! I am a Development Script Editor in Television and Film. 

My most recent credit is for developing a short film THE KNIFE which premiers at Dublin International Film Festival on February 21st. 

I love working with all writers, from all communities, whether early career or established. You can see examples of my work on the Virgin Media Player, NEVER KILL A FEMBOY ON A FIRST DATE - a thriller about cruising, cross-dressing and consent. And THE HEAD ON HIM - about a 15 year old boy whose Afro grows so big he cannot get out the door. My credits on both films were Development Producer/Script Editor. These two short films premiered at the Dublin International Film Festival in February 2024.

As of October 2024, I currently have five projects in development with Screen Ireland (the Irish state agency for TV and Film), including three features and two TV series one of which has received it's second round of funding. 

I have twenty years editorial experience elevating, emerging and established screenwriters including ten years on RTE’s Fair City and the past two years with Virgin Media Television.

I specialise in Climate Editorial since graduating the Climate Leadership Program at Trinity College in early 2023 with a grade of Excellence. As a human rights and climate activist my work is inclusive of the environment, nature, biodiversity, bodily autonomy, decolonisation, green and ethical investment principles. I am currently training as a Producer with Screen Producers Ireland and the National Talent Academy on the EMERGE program.
