SFX Technician (Special Effects Technician)
As an experienced SFX Technician, I have a proven track record in creating practical and mechanical special effects for film and television productions. My role involves designing, building, and operating effects that enhance storytelling, such as explosions, weather simulations, pyrotechnics, animatronics, and prosthetics. I work closely with directors, producers, and the visual effects team to ensure all practical effects are seamlessly integrated into the final product.
Key responsibilities include:
Collaborating with the production team to translate creative requirements into practical on-set solutions. Operating physical effects like pyrotechnics, weather, fire, and atmospherics, while ensuring safety. Troubleshooting and adjusting effects during shoots. Managing budgets, schedules, and procurement of specialized materials. Coordinating with VFX artists to seamlessly integrate practical and digital effects.
Specialized skills:
Expertise in pyrotechnics, animatronics, and mechanical rigs. Hands-on experience with high-pressure air systems, hydraulics, and electrical components for real-time effects. Strong understanding of film production workflows and on-set operations. I excel at being approachable, friendly, and dedicated to delivering excellent service while offering support to customers.
