I am an EMMY and GRIERSON-nominated Producer/Director and have made films for the Netflix, CNN, PBS, BBC, ITV, National Geographic, ZDF and France Television, both factual and specialist factual: current affairs, history, natural history, religion and science. I am used to dealing with sensitive subjects and challenging situations or contributors and have made access-driven films on topics as diverse as the aftermath of Rwandan genocide, law and order in Mexico, the practice of 'bride stealing' in Kyrgyzstan, the collapse of the Argentine economy and exorcism in the Church of England. Some of them were long-term projects, shots over a year-long period, thus allowing greater access and depth in exploring the subject.
I am currently making a feature documentary exploring the experience of having been a hostage, or waiting for news of a loved one held hostage, which follows three families with very different stories, linked by one event.

Through my company Electra Films, I developed a 3 part political thriller/ true crime documentary series which we are in the process of raising funds for.
Between 2020 and 2024 I developed, produced and directed 'The Commandant's Shadow', a feature documentary about the son of the Commandant of Auschwitz and his son, as well as a survivor and her daughter; it's a complex narrative spanning almost a century, which explores the shadow horrific events in the past casts down the generations. It was acquired by Warner Bros. and HBO, and has been released theatrically in more than 770 cinemas across the USA, 80+ cinemas in Germany, and 135 in the UK. (also in South and Central America, Poland, Australia, France and other territories; it is currently streaming on Max, Sky/ Now, Amazon, Apple, Mubi etc.)

In 2024, I produced and directed two films in a three part series about the 7th October, the hostage crisis and the war in Gaza for German broadcaster ZDF. I previously made two documentaries for the 6-part series, 'A Year in Ukraine - Citizens at War' commissioned by ZDF in association with France Televisions and other international broadcasters. I produced and directed episode 1, 'The First Ten Days' and episode 4: 'The Siege of Mariupol.'
Prior to that, I made an archaeological/ anthropological documentary in Peru for PBS (Nova) and France5, first broadcast in the USA in November 2022. Over the past few years I worked on major projects, such as CNN's 'Patagonia - Life at the End of the Earth,' a 6 part series about the (sometimes uneasy) coexistence between humans and wildlife in some of the world's most remote environments, and 'Vendetta- Truth, Lies and the Mafia', a 6 part Netflix series about the Sicilian mafia, Other projects I have been involved with are two major National Geographic series, 'Nazi Megastructures' and 'Witness to Disaster', 'Back to Utopia', an unusual Belgian theatrical release fiction film which included a series of short documentaries exploring some of the issues raised by Thomas More in his book 'Utopia'. They were filmed in Italy, Uganda, Japan, Peru, Mexico, Greece and the UK. I started off in television the BBC, where I spent more than 11 years and directed a large number of prime-time documentaries, both in the UK and across Europe, Africa, Latin America, the Indian subcontinent and Central Asia.
I have a valid US I visa and British, German and Argentine passports. I speak Spanish, German, Italian, French and Portuguese - I love languages and have studied Russian, Japanese, Latin and Classical Greek. In my spare time I can be found on archaeological digs or ice skating.
