Martin is a highly acclaimed documentary film editor, with a remarkable achievement of winning the prestigious Grimme Award 2020 in Germany for his exceptional work on the documentary "Dark Eden”, a profound exploration of the oil industry in Alberta/Canada.

 

His editing skills have been recognized with numerous awards. For instance, “Maternity: Broken Trust” received the RTS TELEVISION JOURNALISM AWARDs 2025 in the category of Current Affairs - Home.

 

In addition, “The Cranes Call” was honoured with the AFIN 2024 International Film Festival Award for Best Documentary Feature in Australia, and received a nomination for Best Documentary Feature at the Warsaw IFF in Poland in 2024, and a nomination for the Cinema for Peace Dove for Justice Award in Berlin 2025.

 

Another notable achievement is “The Oil Machine”, edited in Edinburgh/Scotland, which received the Cinemare Science Communication Award in Kiel/Germany in 2023, and the Green Documentary Award at the Docs Fest in Pordenone/Italy in the same year.
