On this course I have completed a range of projects: I have filmed and edited a music video, produced a commercial and a short film trailer as well as writing a screenplay for a short film.
This has taught me valuable industry skills such as camera work and video editing on Adobe Premiere Pro. For example, my first project I planned, directed and produced a music video. From my initial pre production storyboard, I went scouting for locations and developed a shot list and shooting schedule. I filed location reports and actor release forms as well as a project proposal document and risk assessment. This allowed me to effectively shoot and direct my music video then edit and post produce the content to a professional standard.
I have recently completed Channel 4’s 4Skills Work Experience which has taught me how a TV show goes from being an idea to the small screen, What makes a TV clip right for social media, The factors you need to consider to meet broadcasting law, How to budget advertising spend and how to analyse data to make a broadcasting decision.
In June 2024, I completed a week of work experience with ITV on their popular show, “This Morning.” I was able to observe and assist with various aspects of the production process, from behind-the-scenes preparations to the live show. This experience has deepened my understanding of the industry and fuelled my passion for pursuing a career in it.
I have a huge passion for filmmaking and would like to find my place in the industry, at an apprenticeship where I can continue to learn and enhance my skills in videography.
