I am a multifaceted talent in the entertainment industry, known for my dynamic work as an actor, singer, director, and producer in film, television and theatre. Born in South Africa but currently residing in the UK for the last 4 years, my passion for the performing arts and entertainment industry was evident since a very young age. By the time I was 10, I had already begun making waves in local singing competitions, setting the stage for a remarkable career and making home movies with family and friends.
My early theatrical work saw me take on lead roles in significant stage productions, including the hit musical "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" where I starred as Cogsworth, the sci-fi musical "Little Shop of Horrors" as Seymour and the epic role as Edna Turnblad in the musical "Hairspray" These roles not only highlighted my acting and performing talents but also my ability to captivate audiences with his on-stage presence.
After exploring a brief stint in aviation, where I accumulated 70 hours of flight training, I realized my true calling was in the arts. This led me to study event management and vocal performance, earning a Grade 8 (Level 3) Diploma in Singing from Rock School in the UK and a Musical Theater Productions Diploma from Trinity College, London. My commitment to the craft culminated in his directorial debut with the theater production "Fame" at just 16 years old, earning him accolades as one of the youngest theatrical directors in South Africa.
In 2016, I founded Nightlight Productions, a film production company that quickly made its mark in the film industry. My short films, "Play Me" and "A Glass Half Full," garnered critical acclaim, with the latter winning several local awards and securing U.S. distribution on cable TV in 2020. My ability to juggle multiple roles—as a director, producer, writer, and actor—has earned me a reputation for versatility and excellence.
Building on my success, I founded the South African Film, Acting & Theater Academy (SAFATA) in 2017, an internationally accredited performing arts institution. Under my leadership, SAFATA has become a premier training ground for aspiring actors, singers, and performers in South Africa, with myself personally mentoring many students. My commitment to education is further exemplified by my involvement in creating and hosting a reality tv series "Talent Africa The Series," which aired for two seasons on Mindset TV and showcased emerging talent from across the country all the way to New York City.
My contributions to the film industry extend beyond South Africa. I served as an Associate Producer and Assistant Director on international feature films, such as the sci-fi thriller "The Construct," and worked on the romantic comedy "Crazy Fun in Serbia." My expertise also led him to a leadership role as a Youth Ambassador for South Africa at the United Nations Youth Conference in Bangkok, where he represented his country on a global stage.
In 2020, I relocated to London, where he continued to try and expand my career. He co-directed and produced the short film "A Clouded Mind," and served as an Assistant Director on the children's sci-fi feature film "Superkids," shot in both Serbia and the UK. I took a break from the film industry in 2022 and 2023 and worked for a major PR Company in London whilst part-time running a theatre school in the UK for children that I became the Co-Owner and Creative Director of in 2023, further solidifying my passion in the performing arts.
Despite my endeavors, I remained deeply connected to my roots in South Africa, after taking on the role as the City Producer for the International 48 Hour Film Project in Johannesburg and overseeing the national operations for the film competition and festival from planning to execution. The 48 Hour Film Project is a major global phenomenal that is one of the biggest short film competitions in the world since 2001. The work behind being involved as a City Producer, and creating a platform for emerging filmmakers to take their dreams to screen has been characterized by a relentless pursuit of excellence, a commitment to nurturing talent, and a passion for storytelling that resonates across cultures and continents.
My journey is that of extraordinary talent and dedication, making me someone who are not only passionate about the entertainment industry, both in South Africa and globally. But, my work ethics, history and experience is one of continuous growth, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to the arts.
