Dana Wang is a Chinese award-winning filmmaker and photographer based in London. She graduated from the University of York as an undergraduate with a Film and Television Production degree in 2024. During her years in England, the realisation of free expression in film and photography intrigues her to explore what matters to her in the surroundings, especially in an era full of conflicts, misunderstandings and wishes for peace.
“An individual’s harmony with his or her ‘own deep self’ requires not merely a journey to the interior but a harmonising with the environmental world.” James Hillman’s words inspire her a lot, where the inner and outer connections between humans and the world are the forever core of her work. Identity, nature, and emotions, all bring together her enthusiasm and curiosity for people to tell more worth-telling stories in film, documentary and photography.
