She moved to the UK from Miami in 2021 to study at London Film School, where she graduated with distinction with an MA in International Film Business. Shortly after arriving to London, Camila began producing short films as a one-(wo)man production team. In her sole capacity, she produced 6 short films and was the production manager on two more in the span of two years, all the while balancing a separate, full-time production role at a studio.
Her short film “Drumming” was longlisted for an editing nomination at the 2023 British Short Film Awards. Another short "Dance with the Devil" participated in the 2022 Catalan Audiovisual's Talent Week Pitching Session and is having its world premiere at the 2024 edition of the Melies Federation festival MOTELX. It is also in development for a feature adaptation. Another recent short film "Love Lost" started a strong festival run with a world premiere at the BIFA-qualifying Brighton Rocks International Film Festival.
Her studio experience spans large, blockbuster work at DNEG, with credits including The Meg 2: The Trench (2023) and The Garfield Movie (2024), to production management experience at the smaller and internationally focused production company Blackbox Multimedia.
Most recently, she is a recipient of the spring 2024 Pic Perfect Scholarship, which sponsors two producers to join the BFI-affiliated Female Film Club.
Camila's production experience extends beyond the UK and narrative work. She has held production roles on several commercials and music videos with Miami-based In&Out Productions, and has work experience in casting as well as AR/VR media. Her academic studies also include a BA in Communication Studies from Boston University and a Master in Legal Studies from University of Southern California.
Her aim is to create projects that defy societal and genre conventions, blending and bending the rules to create provocative stories that are both visually and narratively bold.
