Read MoreI most recently have been working for Quicksilver Media as a Researcher/Logger on C4 Dispatches - 'Trump: Moscow's Man in the White House?' and an upcoming undercover documentary. Prior to this, I worked as a logger on Hardcash Productions’ documentary Undercover: The Great Tagging Scandal for Channel 4 Dispatches. The role involved closely watching rushes, accurately logging key details and timecodes, and supporting the edit team in tracking footage and pulling scenes together.
Last year I graduated with distinction from my Masters in TV Journalism at City, University of London. As part of the course I gained practical experience pitching, shooting and editing weekly news stories for a live TV programme, as well as producing social-first versions of these stories for digital platforms. I also developed strong documentary research skills through the course itself and through placements at Hardcash Productions and Turquoise TV. At both companies I worked across programmes in development, digging into complex subject matter, sourcing contributors, tracking down original user generated content and verifying it, and compiling detailed research packs including data for potential FOI requests.
Since graduating I have produced, presented and co-edited a one hour documentary for Virgin Radio Pride about queer loneliness and community. I also worked as a freelance video journalist at Time Out, where I pitched, filmed and edited explainers and vox pops covering major cultural moments in London. I have supported location shoots and interviews, helping to set up equipment, manage logistics, and work directly with contributors on the ground. I am confident working around camera kit and have assisted on multi-camera interview setups, with a willingness to take on more technical responsibilities when needed.
Before moving into journalism I worked in child protection social work for five years. That gave me significant experience in building trust with people in distressing or high stakes situations, which I have found directly relevant when working with sensitive contributors in journalism. I am particularly interested in stories about social issues, especially those affecting LGBTQI+ communities, which I am proud to be part of.
Alongside social work I worked for a domestic violence organisation delivering group workshops for perpetrators. That experience partly informs MANBOX, a solo theatre show I am developing. Work in progress versions have been staged at Camden People’s Theatre, and I recently received Arts Council funding to continue developing the project.
