I’m a Politics and Film & Media student from Oban currently studying at the University of Stirling in my 4th year. During my course I have been trained to create and project video assignments including documentaries and interactive films as well as social media.
I have been taught how to edit in Avid, Operate recording equipment and cameras such as the Sony FS5.
 
I’ve had 3 years of filming experience where I would cover music, drama and sport events throughout the central belt and hold qualifications in editing programs.
I have previous work experience at Fircrest Films where I gained vital experience relevant to the roles in the media industry. I worked with the production where I have gained intermediate experience of converting BBC archive footage from low to high resolution and the processing record consent sheets through the Silver-mouse software.
 
I am currently interning at Central FM where I worked with the news team and I am developing my broadcast journalistic skills through script writing, vox pop interviews with the public and event coverage.
 
I learned how broadcasting equipment is operated, the business aspect of station and How news segments were researched and presented. I was also tasked with running the stations social media which included regular informational posts, digital content creation and user engagement to a page of over 31 thousand followers.
 
I have been entered into a training scheme for the journalist team where I have learned researching and interview skills, audio equipment and shorthand. My broadcast journalist skills were also developed through vox pop interviews with the public and event coverage.
 
 I’ve written several articles for both the Glasgow Times Newspaper & The Gazette. I researched article information and ideas. I also attended press conferences and active police responses.
 
During my role at the Wiser academy, I was a student recruiter for KPMG, Clifford Chance, Haysmacintyre and Fidelity. Developed a good social media presence and created an online brand as an Ambassador in the Scottish Central belt. This required me to network with students, graduates, and job seekers.  I also achieved targets and tasks while studying at the final year of university.
