London in 2014, where I saw an opportunity to develop my skills as a filmmaker in the city that held all the
opportunities to do so.
Being an eldest child, the frequent disruption of moving made me ‘the third parent’ to my younger siblings. I carried
this passion for being ‘the organiser’ into my career. I’d been raised on storytelling in every part of my life and after
trying my hand at writing and performing, I found the key to my strengths was solving problems, putting together the
puzzle pieces to make the idea become a reality. I found my role as a Producer.
I made my first short film as a Producer in 2013, Canned, made its way onto BFI player. It was the beginning of my
journey which complimented ongoing work as an Assistant Director and in Locations.
After nearly a decade of short filmmaking I optioned my first feature which I am in the process of financing. In my
journey learning how to finance a feature I’ve learnt a lot about what I don’t know. The BBC Associate Producer
programme offers a stepping stone into long form.
