New Yorker settled in London with US & UK passports and 25 years of directing/producing/editing experience (BBC/C4/Sky/Netflix/PBS/CNN/Arte and more), specialising in feature docs but have done many series.  My feature docs havehad major festival premieres, four were released in cinemas, all have been well reviewed. My work is character-driven and has been praised for its sensitivity, intelligence, and sense of humour.  I've done work in a variety of genres (politics, recent history, current affairs, science, arts/culture,and sport) in a variety of styles, filming around the world. I started as an ob-doc director but have moved into more retrospective and creative work, with drama, high-end studio shoots, and archive. I've interviewed all kinds of people, from world-class politicians (Tony Blair, Condaleeza Rice, Asif Zardari) and scientists (at CERN) to survivorsof torture and human trafficking, children and teens and octogenarians, horse trainers, and a few horses. I am happy working in existing formats or developing ideas from scratch, enjoy working in collaboratibe teams and being very independent in equal measure. I also Executive Produce, consult, teach, and advise. I am a proficient editor and a competent self-shooter, have a track record of receiving funded development, and executive produced a wide slate of films on international humanitarian topics. I've also been a judge (including Emmys, Griersons, and One World Media).
