Nearly 20 years of experience as director, creative director, producer, series & exec producer, across sports, music, documentary, branded content and TVCs. I've worked one on one with high profile sport, film and music talent all over the world, shot award winning content for Adidas, led large teams, and headed up TV and video for the Mercury Prize.
Creating beautifully shot, engaging narratives, for all sorts of audiences on every platform is what I'm about. Riding bikes, travelling the world and having fun is what I like to spend my time doing.
I’m a proactive, resourceful and creative director and series producer, with a wide range of skills across a variety of productions. Experienced working with contributors, presenters, agencies, clients and A list talent. I’m at home producing & directing multicam OBs and in studio, running large teams, but also across sports and music documentary, building slow burn editorial and leading campaigns across broadcast, print, social and OOHD.
I spent 2020 to 22 working with a brilliant team at Zwift, to build a best in class film & video production department, full of energetic, gifted, creative cycling, triathlon & running enthusiasts, writers, photographers and film makers.
For the first time I worked inside a brand, having spend the rest of my career working for production companies, agencies and broadcasters, often with brands as clients or in the mix.
In this high growth sports start up, in a little over 2 years I built and led a multinational production team within Zwift’s marketing org, to fulfil the growing need for narrative storytelling as part of the marketing mix.
Working with pro teams, sports organisations and rights holders including the IOC, UCI, ASO, Team Ineos, Movistar, CANYON//SRAM, and many others, we built out campaigns and content executions which served both the brand and it’s partners, but which importantly informed and entertained the uninitiated and the die hard cycling fans at the same time.
As part of the marketing leadership team, I worked with Social, CRM and Paid Media to develop and roll out narrative led global & localised campaigns centred around documentary, podcast, live esports & magazine programming for the cycling, triathlon and running markets.
With shoots every week, in every corner of the planet, a global audience of participant cyclists truly and meaningfully connected through the metaverse, and stories to be told which both grew and developed the brand and it's community my time in this role taught me as much about branded content needs & realities and how to create nuanced, audience specific executions, which satisfy those needs, than much of my time working on the other side of the fence. Experience and knowledge which I'll take with me to my next Series Producer or Creative Director position.
Most recently I joined GCN for a few months to show run, and Series PD the second series of the popular 5 part sports doc series, Zwift Academy Finals 2022. A complex proposition balancing the creative, narrative, brand, business, training, selection & production needs of Zwift, Discovery+/Eurosport/GCN, CANYON//SRAM & Team Alpecin-Deceuninck and a varied group of 100 plus professionals from very different worlds. The result? A 5 part competitive reality show for Eurosport/GCN & 2 pro cycling contracts for gifted amateurs plucked from obscurity to the world tour.
I’m now looking for my next challenge, leading a creative team in broadcast or branded content.
