I am a former Metropolitan Police Officer turned professional screenwriter. Due to my old career, I am able to capture authentic policing experience within my scripts, so they are not only entertaining but truthful and genuine. Combined with my ability to write compelling characters with great dialogue, I am able to weave engaging police procedure dramas drawn from my hands-on police background.

I also advise other writers on police language and procedures. Due to my writing background, I can assist with finding compromises that allow the story to be told, whilst adhering to the reality of policing.

Professional, skilled and motivated writer. With a 2.1 Joint Honours Degree in Film and Television production/Screenwriting. Since embarking on a career as a screenwriter, I have been commissioned to write two police procedural drama pilot scripts. Additionally, I have recently advised on Coronation Street at the early scripting stage, to help the writers nail down the true approach to police procedure and police interviews.

In my time as a police constable I have investigated historic offences to find a named suspect, respond to emergency calls, engaged with members of the public and both trained and experienced violent public order incidents (Rioting). I was attached to the Domestic Investigations department (CSU) for the purpose of secondary investigations and police interviews.

I can say with a high level of confidence that I can create highly engaging characters, with strong voices and dialogue to match. Not only that, but I understand television structure very well, so I know when a story beat needs to be hit and how to write a compelling ending.
