Read MoreI am a disabled, neurodivergent artist based in Swansea. I began my career in teaching, buying and sales, but I began freelancing in 2009 as a photographer and then became a project manager overseeing the renovation and management of properties for Airbnb. I have continued to freelance in various different projects simultaneously, working within the arts world. What is particularly important to me is making the art industry more accessible to people with disabilities and neurodivergence. I have worked with Your Voice Advocacy to support people with learning disabilities; I was commissioned for the Manifesto for Accessible Arts Festival alongside five other artists to create guidelines for meeting the needs of artists and audiences with disabilities; I took part in the Black Country All Age Autism Framework project to produce guidance to support co-production projects; I was awarded seed funding and a development grant for taking part in Clwstwr Creadigol, where I focused on bridging the employment gap for ND and disabled people; I ran a ffilm club based in Cardiff for ND people to learn new skills based around film production; I worked with It’s My Shout as an assistant to the art director where I helped with set and prop design and decoration; I worked as a production designer on the 2022 film “Down with the moles”.
On top of these projects I also participate in research for other organisations that support people with disabilities and neurodiversity, hold a voluntary position with the W3c mobile accessibility taskforce, as I have a special interest in tech and digital accessibility, and participate in a storytelling research group.
