Studying acting from the age of seven, the media and television has been an area I’ve loved since I was young. Being able to combine my love of motorsports with the tv industry is a dream come true and the thrill of hearing the bike engines roaring on the starting grid at my first British MotoGP only added more determination to pursue this dream career. I’m twenty-two years old currently in my third year at Nottingham Trent University, studying Broadcast Journalism, with a burning desire and dream to become a presenter and reporter for MotoGP, Speedway and all things two wheeled in the future! As well as motorsport, more of my interests include social injustice and criminology, entertainment and international affairs. I’m hoping I’ll be able to pursue these passions more throughout my career. Over the years, I’ve been extremely fortunate, as well as hard working to secure work within British Speedway, with Eurosport. Initially as a production assistant, I participated in setting up all the technical equipment, producing call sheets and running orders, as well as a sound and lighting operator. From this I progressed to the role of a Floor Manager, a role I continue to this day. My main responsibilities include ensuring the Live TV production goes according to plan, by working closely with the Race Director as well as the production crew to ensure the timings coinciding with the production schedule. Liaising with the producer and director, then relaying instruction between the trucks, on location staff, talent, and riders for interviews. I’m also involved in helping prepare and plan the show, making sure the equipment and technical gear was set up correctly and in the correct locations for filming. This lead to my debut reporting for Eurosport on the Semi-Finals between Wolverhampton Wolves and Sheffield Tigers. Through this work, I’ve been fortune enough to be offered my first reporting role with BSN, the online streaming service for British Speedway. My role was to Conduct both pre and post meeting interviews with a variety of speedway riders and managers from several teams within British Speedway. As well as getting the opportunity to close several shows in the BSN booth with guests occasionally joining me. I’ve been a member of their team throughout the 2023 season. I've had the privilege of chatting to Sheffield Tiger's Manager, Simon Stead, Emil Sayfutinov, Ipswich Witches rider and many more.. I’ve also been privileged to act as a social media presenter and reporter for South Wales Life during the 2023 Cardiff GP of Speedway. I conducted vox-pops in the fanzone ahead of the grand prix as well as recording a piece to camera for social media platforms highlighting the event. During the summer of 2018 and 2019, I took the opportunity to work as runner for TNT Sport, at Silverstone for MotoGP. I acted as a runner, under the direction of the production and production crew to ensure the smooth running of the live shows over the course of the weekend. I had to complete general administrative work, such as producing and printing Call sheets and Running orders, carrying camera equipment, cables and lighting. Completing simple tasks such as making drinks and sorting lunch for the crew and presenters. The role was crucial in gaining knowledge around TV production, Presenting and Commentary. From this I’ve worked with North One TV, on MotoGP as a VT assistant, which I continue now. I assist with the general smooth running of the live shows. Ensured that during all live sporting sessions timecodes alongside key moments were noted and sent to the appropriate people. Listening to interviews and clipping programme worthy lines to be put into the running order. Looking over graphics, verifying and completing facts checks. I use social media platforms to produce race reports, sporting previews to promote my work and gain confidence in front of camera, as well as presenting news shows whilst at University. I’ve been involved with SailGP, acting as a logger my responsibility was to watch the live racing and take notes of the best footage using an IPD, as well as transcribing interviews. I also produced Music Cue Sheets. As well as this, I’ve been fortunate to be involved BBC Radio Norfolk, taking up the role of production assistant as well as participating as a guest speaker occasionally. My role included researching topics and information on topics to be included in the upcoming show whilst planning and rehearsing ahead of the show. Liaising with other members of production and guests whilst the show is on air. Schedule music and ensure the show runs smoothly. Furthermore, I was a runner for Radio Norwich (now Greatest Hits), producing writing scripts for news headlines and bulletins, alongside recording speech for the newsroom, editing videos and sound clips.
